This opportunity seeks experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for onsite contract roles within a school district located near Middletown, Delaware. These positions are ideal for candidates holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) with a valid Delaware SLP license. Note that virtual or SLPA positions are not available, and candidates in their Clinical Fellowship year are welcome to apply.
Location: Wilmington, DE
Contract Duration: August 26, 2026, through June 10, 2027 (with possible earlier start for professional development)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time (37.5 hours with 30-minute paid lunch)
- Early Childhood Hours: 8:25 AM 3:55 PM
- Elementary Hours: 8:30 AM 4:00 PM
- Middle School Hours: 7:40 AM 3:10 PM
- High School Hours: 7:15 AM 2:45 PM
Caseload Locations and Details:
- Darley Road Preschool: Itinerant, mornings; building-based in afternoons
- Bush Early Education Center: Preschool building-based
- Harlan Elementary: General education caseload
- Springer Middle School: General education caseload
- Mt. Pleasant High School: Light caseload involving general education and special programs, including support for district evaluations. Caseload expected to grow during the year; strong evaluation skills are preferred.
Qualifications
- Valid Delaware SLP license (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience working with school-aged populations, including preschool through high school
- Strong skills in speech and language evaluation and intervention
- Ability to manage both itinerant and building-based caseloads
- Professionalism and dependable attendance
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services aligned with student needs
- Conduct evaluations and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, families, and school teams to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
